Robert R. Sanders
Funeral Director

Robert R. Sanders, (1943-2002) was a life resident of the Canton area and a Graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended the Ohio State University and Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Embalming. Bob was a member and past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association District 16. Charter member and past president of the Canton South Rotary where he was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow. He was a charter member and board member of the Canton South YMCA and a recipient of the Red Triangle. Member of the Canton South Lions Club, Stark Wilderness Center, and the Lincoln Alumni. Bob was a life member of the 38th Street Church of Christ where he had served as a Deacon. Bob served as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer with the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes for 37 years, at the time of his death; he was the owner/operator and president of the corporation.



R. Scott Sanders
Funeral Director

R. Scott Sanders, a second generation licensed funeral director, embalmer, and pre-need counselor, who is the president of Kreighbaum-Sanders and Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes. Scott is a life resident of Canton and graduated from Canton South High School in 1981. He attended the Ohio State University and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where he received a degree in Mortuary Science. After graduation, Scott became the manager for Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and the treasurer for Sanders Funeral Homes, Inc., but since the death of his father, he has been named the president of Sanders Funeral Homes, Inc. He is a member and past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association District 16. Scott has volunteered for 19 years with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival where he served as Chairman for various committees and in 2002 was the General Chairman of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival. He is active in the East Canton Lions Club and the East Canton Rotary Club where he is a charter member and a past president. Scott also is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Buckeye Council Advisory Board, and was the chairman of the Osnaburg Township Citizens Fire Department Committee. Scott had served as a wrestling coach with the Canton Local School System for 6 years. He is the recipient of the 1999 Canton Jaycees Distinguished Service Award and the Stark County Grange Community Volunteer of the Year. Scott and his wife, Julie, have three boys, Chase, Brock and Drew.



Randall J. Sanders
Funeral Director


Randall J. Sanders, a second generation licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need counselor for the Kreighbaum-Sanders and Myers-Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Homes. Randy serves as Secretary-Treasurer for Sanders Funeral Homes, Inc. Randy graduated from Canton South High School in 1985 and attended Bowling Green State University. He graduated Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1988 where he received his bachelor of Mortuary Science degree. He is a member and past president of District #16 Ohio Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the Canton South Community Men’s Club. Randy and his wife Heidi have two sons, Adam & Jack.



J.D. Hively
Funeral Director & Embalmer


J.D. Hively has been actively involved in the funeral profession for over 25 years as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He has served as an owner/operator and funeral home manager for many years. J.D. attended the West Virginia University and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1984. He and his wife, Carla, live in Carrollton, OH. and attend the First United Methodist Church where J.D. serves as a trustee. He is also a member of the Jackson Lodge # 85 F&AM and is a past committee chairman of Troop 141 BSA of Carrollton. In his spare time he enjoys NASCAR, antique tractor pulling, woodworking and cooking. The Hively’s have three adult children and one grandchild.



Bonnie J. Sanders
Administrative Assistant

Bonnie J. Sanders, Vice president and Cosmetologist for Kreighbaum-Sanders and Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes, Bonnie has been employed with the funeral home for 29 years. She is a lifetime resident of the Canton area and the widow of Robert R. Sanders. She is a graduate of Glenwood High School and is very active in both educational and social activities. Bonnie is a member and past president of the OFWC/GFWC, Canton South Junior Guild and the Canton South Gavel Club. She is a member of the Canton Fine Arts where she served as chairman of the Christkindl Market in 1995. Member of the Canton Museum of Art, Stark Wilderness Center and charter member of the Canton South YMCA. She has served as a long time volunteer for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Luncheon Hostess Committee. Bonnie is a member of the 38th Street Church of Christ and a life member of the Stepping Stones for Ohio Valley College. She and her husband Bob, were married for 40 years and are the parents of R. Scott, Randall, Deanne and they have 5 grandsons.



Julie L. Sanders
Administrative Assistant

Julie L. Sanders, Administrative Assistant for the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. She was born in Coshocton, Ohio and spent most of her childhood in the Canton area. She is a graduate of Canton South High School, and received her bachelor degree in Foods and Nutrition from The University of Akron. She and her husband Scott have three children Chase, Brock and Drew. Julie truly enjoys gardening, outdoors, sports, and spending quality time with her family.



William E. Slish
General Operations Assistant

William E. Slish, General Operations for the Kreighbaum - Sanders and the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes. He was born in Canton, Ohio, one of six children, he and his wife Kendra and children reside in New Philadelphia, OH. He graduated from GlenOak High School in Canton, and Kent State University. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. He was employed for 10 years as a juvenile counselor with Pathway Caring For Children and is licensed as a CCDCIII (Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor III). He currently is a member of the Kent State University Alumni. His hobbies include computers, woodworking, remodeling, swimming, camping and photography.
