Joseph MungerApril 25, 1922 ~ May 3, 2017 (age 95)
age 95, left this plane on Wednesday May 3, 2017 with his daughter at his side. At the age of 14, Joe shipped out to the Northwest with the Civilian Conservation Corp to fight fires and plant trees in damaged areas. He was an Army veteran having served in World War II. Joe was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and the Croatian Fraternal Union. Always an avid hunter, he enjoyed spending time outdoors up to his final days. He and his wife were prolific gardeners and visitors rarely left their home without a cache of fresh or home canned vegetables. His penchant for story telling was legendary; all he needed was a willing listener.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Hattie DeWalt, his beloved grandson, Joe DeWalt and his wife Shanna. Funeral services will be Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11:00am in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in East Canton, with Pastor Tim Monteith officiating. Friends will be received one hour before services on Saturday at the church (10-11am).
