Wade W. Snyder
age 97 of Canton. On Saturday, Dec. 23, Jesus took Wade by the hand and led him through Heaven’s gates. He was born Oct. 29, 1920 in Navarre, Ohio to the late Nelson and Goldie Snyder. He was a longtime member of Canton First Free Methodist Church, later merging with LifeHope Community Church, where he served as trustee, usher and greeter for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany with the 103rd Infantry Division during World War II. Wade retired from The Timken Roller Bearing Company in 1983 after 35 years as head operator in the Heat Treat Division. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and Cleveland Indians fan. Wade loved his family and will be deeply missed by his wife, Eileen (McClintock) with whom he celebrated 73 years of marriage on Aug. 19; four children, Brad (Lois) Snyder, Sheryl (Duane) Fowler and Cyndi (Lynn) Phillips, all of Canton, and Fred (Michele) Snyder of Crystal Lake, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob and Don (Carol), both of Navarre; sister-in-law, Ruth McClintock of New Port Richey, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Roger; brother-in-law, Bill McClintock; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Snyder. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chester Bartram, the staff at The Lodge At New Dawn, and Crossroads Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to their beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 28 at 11:30 a.m. at LifeHope Community Church, 7096 Hills and Dales Ave. NW with Pastor Ray Gill officiating. Visitation will be at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Wednesday 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday morning. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
