June 16, 1937 ~ November 6, 2018 (age 81)

Kathleen Faye Seroteck

Passed away November 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born June 16, 1937 in Hartville, OH. She was a proud graduate of Canton South High School where she was the Head Majorette for the Wildcat Marching Band in 1955. She had attended Kent State University and was employed by The Timken Company for more than 30 years. Kathleen took great interest in genealogy and spent much time uncovering her family history. She was an avid reader and Civil War enthusiast. She was past president of the Stark County Civil War Roundtable, member of the World War II Club and the Canton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Kathleen was a hardworking, intelligent, honest and generous lady who loved and supported her family. “Grandma Kitty” never missed an event in which her grandchildren were involved. She loved to reminisce about her happiest memories as a child with her grandparents on the farm. She also found joy in nature, visiting historical cemeteries, listening to Spanish music and continuing to educate herself. Kathleen fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling throughout Europe in 2012 with her daughter. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Jerry) Prestier; grandchildren, Jerry (Ally) Prestier, Josh Prestier, Joe Prestier and Jamie (Matt) Trissel; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Sheila Tinus; nephew, Mike Tinus; niece Renee Rogers; two great-nieces. The family would like to thank Grace Hospice for their loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday November 9, 2018 at 11:00am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 9:30- 10:30 in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
