Ruth E. Sloan
Age 105, of Bolivar passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Hennis Care Center, Bolivar following an extended illness. Born October 13, 1913 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to the late Daniel David “Jacob” and Lucy Ida (Aubiel) Hartman. She was a 1932 graduate of Port Washington High School where she was one of only three graduates. She met her future husband, Harold Sloan at a belling and married him in 1936. Ruth was retired from Martin’s Pastry in 1974 and had formerly been employed by Kressege Department Store. She was a member of the former Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sloan; two daughters, Nancy Allen and Betty Eichorn; a sister, Freda Davies; two brothers, Willis and Ralph “Pinky” Hartman. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Donald Walters; a son-in-law, Henry Allen; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hennis Care Center, Homestead, in Bolivar for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave, Canton with Fr. Dennis S. Krumlauf officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10 – 11 am.
