Amy May

Amy F. Garvin May, age 92, died peacefully on January 19, 2024 while under the care of Crossroads Hospice while in Hennis Care Center at Dover. Amy was born in East Sparta, Ohio on March 22, 1931, to the late Claude and Ethel (Stoneburner) Edwards. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd May, and son, Cecil Peters. She is also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Amy is survived by three sons and one daughter: Ray (Kathy) Garvin of Mineral City; Penney (Jay) Cutler of Canton; Wes Garvin of Carrollton; Art (Chris) Garvin of New Philadelphia; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a 1949 graduate of Canton South High School and retired from Nickles Bakery.

Amy enjoyed picking berries, canning, watching the birds out her window, camping and traveling to all 50 states. She loved her children and grandchildren and was always there when they needed her. 

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at 10 AM at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with her son, Ray Garvin, officiating.
