Barbara “Barb” Ann (Messenger) Frederick, (76), of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born July 16, 1948, in Somerset, PA, she was a daughter of the late J Fenton and Doris (Kleist) Messenger. She was a 1966 graduate of Canton South High School.
Barb was an avid sports fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer on her beloved Buckeyes. She was also a vocal member of the cheering section for all her grandchildren in all their many sports and theater activities. In addition to cheering them on, she was a big prayer warrior, always praying for her family. Barb enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and the occasional Diet Coke. Most importantly her love for Jesus will be carried on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her two daughters, Dana and her husband, Frank Santoro, Cranberry Twp., PA, Deanna and her husband, Patrick Cercone, Crestwood, KY, and daughter in law Kelly (Fields) Frederick. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, Joseph (Norah), Justin (Laura), Jenna (Nate), Jayme (Dylan), Brandy Ndirangu, Madison, Callahan, Max, Cole, Toby, Sadie and Caleb and ten great grandchildren, Lia, Frankie, Gianna, Mylah, Lucy, Lydia, Michael, Gideon, Millie and Beau. Barb is also survived by her sister Patricia “Pat” (Messenger) Mack.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Randy; her son, Rocky; a sister, Jane (Messenger) Gulling and a brother-in-law, Bob Mack.
Private Services will be held for Barbara.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S. Canton, Ohio 44707. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
