Bernard K. “Bernie” McFadden
Age 86, of East Canton passed away Sunday July 4, 2021, in St. Joseph Care Center following an extended illness. He was born August 18, 1934, in Newcomerstown, OH to the late Fred and Ethel (Karr) McFadden. Bernie was a 1953 graduate of East Canton High School and a 1954 graduate of Barbers College. He was the owner/operator of the Buckeye Plaza Barber Shop and retired from The Timken Company in 1996 after 21 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Northwest Church of Christ where he formerly served as an Elder. Bernie was formerly active with the Silver Sneakers group and an avid golfer for many years. He was an accomplished artist and skilled wood carver. He is preceded in death by an infant sister, Betty Jo McFadden; one brother, Kelly McFadden. Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann (Eddy) to whom he was married 66 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bob Dougherty; one grandson and his wife, Blake and Samantha Dougherty; two great-grandsons, Xander and Jackson Dougherty; one brother, Charles “Chuck” McFadden; sister-in-law, Carrie (Rich) Little; brother-in-law, Sam Eddy; three nieces, Dana (Jeff) Kullman, Lori Heinz and Lisa (Tom) Schemeley; nephew, Tim (Sally) McFadden.
