Bernard P. “Bernie” Richard Jr

Age 74, of Perry Township died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital following a brief illness. Born July 21, 1947 in Canton, Ohio to the late Bernard P. Sr and Thelma (Weigle) Richard. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a graduate of Perry High School. Bernie was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. He retired from the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Postal Service. He had been a former Boy Scout leader. Preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Richard. He is survived by a daughter, Danielle McCoy; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Crystal Richard; eight grandchildren; three brothers, James (Janet) Richard, David Richard, John (Darla) Richard; two sisters, Audrey Kutzli, Julie (Jerry) Ramey; numerous nieces and nephews. Following Bernie’s wishes there will be no services, cremation will take place and final disposition at sea, will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
