Bernard L. Sizemore

Bernard L. Sizemore, age 94, of East Sparta, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Born in Welch, West Virginia on December 20, 1931, Bernard was the son of the late Dewey and Sally (Flanigan) Sizemore.

Bernie was employed as a steel roller operator for Republic Steel where he retired from after 34 years of service. He was also a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all those that knew him.

In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Hannah Lue (Mullins) Sizemore, who passed away on August 18, 2020; son, Danny Richard Sizemore; his grandsons, Gary D. Sizemore and Ross Bernard Sizemore; and one son-in-law Vernon Cooper.

Those left to cherish Bernard's memory are his three children, Linda Sue Stealey, Nancy Cooper and Robert (Diana) Sizemore Sr; daughter-in-law, Judalon Sizemore; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members, and friends.

In keeping with Bernard’s wishes, no public services will be held. Those wishing to honor his memory are invited to donate to a charity of their choice in Bernard’s name.
