Betty J. Hahn, age 103, passed away on July 11, 2024, at Brewster Parke nursing home. She was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Warren and Dora (Shearer) McGaughey.
Betty was a graduate of McKinley High School, after which she attended St. Louis School of Music. She was a piano teacher for more than 70 years, and an East Canton resident since 1969. Betty was a member of St. Paul’s Christian Church, where she was the organist and choir director for 30 years. She later attended Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton. Betty was a member of the Ohio Music Teachers Association and National Teachers Association. She was an avid gardener, her second love next to music.
Beside her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Elmer Hahn in 1989; two brothers, Richard and Don McGaughey; two sisters, Arlene McGaughey and Marilyn O’Malley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, David (Beth), Major General Daniel (Carol) and Rev. Douglass (Joanne) Hahn; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22 from 4-6 pm at Sanders Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 11 am at Sanders Funeral Home with Rev, Douglas Hahn as officiant. Betty will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery.
