Betty J. George

Betty J. George 101, of Canton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. She was born to the late Ruey and Cora (Wilch) Trautwein on September 4, 1925.

Betty worked at Smith & Phillips Furniture but retired from Cheton's Furniture.

She was a former member of Canton First Church of the Brethren and currently a member of Eden Church of the Brethren.

Betty enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking, gardening, puzzles and needle pointing.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Charles George; son, Howard Eugene Snyder; brother, Charles Trautwein; sisters, Bonnie (Eugene) Grohoske, Ruby Cole, and Rosemary (Wayne) Bibler and a third brother-in-law, Robert Simonson.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Gerald (Pat) George; daughters, Sharon (Wesley) Neff, Patricia (John) Birone and Theresa Gutshall; sister, Shirley Simonson; sister-in-law, Diane Trautwein; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kreighbuam-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S., Canton, OH 44707. Betty's funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Spencer officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
