Betty Mae Minor

Betty Mae Minor (DeVault), age 93, passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2026. The daughter of the late Wilbur and Eva DeVault, she was born in Buffalo, Ohio, on May 25, 1933. Betty was a 1951 graduate of McKinley High School.

Betty was lucky to find love early in life and was happily married to Frank Raymond Minor at Calvary United Methodist Church on August 13, 1950. Betty and Frank cherished 67 years together before Frank's passing in October of 2017.

Betty's first job was at the Persian in downtown Canton where she operated the elevator. She also spent time as a swim instructor at the YWCA. Betty was able to retire after 25 dedicated years at Canton City Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brother, Robert DeVault; and sister, Shirley Hoagland.

She leaves behind her children, Deborah (James) Morris, Daniel (Robin) and David (Kim) Minor; grandchildren, Jami (Kevin) McKinney, Eric (Lake) and Matthew Minor, James (Trista) Morris, Ben Minor, John (Jessica) and Nicole Minor; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Austin and Savannah McKinney, Cirene, Caleb and Sophie Minor, Tori, Jason and Jordon Morris, and Jacqui Blose; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and dear friends.

Family and friends may visit at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Avenue S, Canton, Ohio 44707, on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 11am until 12pm. Betty's funeral service will begin at 12pm. She will then be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
