Boyd “Ed” E. Clapper Jr. peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center. He was born on January 23, 1939, to the late Boyd E. Clapper Sr. and Evelyn (Burwell) Clapper.
Throughout his professional career, Ed worked for Jackson-Bayley Company in Canton, where he served as a rewinder on electric motors. While his professional life was fulfilling, Ed found his true passion in cars. He poured his heart into restoring classic and vintage cars, relishing in attending car shows and drag races.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Shirley.
Cherishing his memory are his devoted wife of 60 years, Jacqueline (Salapack) Clapper; his daughters, Julie Anne Clapper, and Carol Ann Arzbecker Detling; his son, Mark E. Clapper; his sister, Karen (Norm) Wise; and brother, Dale (Sandy) Clapper.
In accordance with Ed’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, the family kindly requests that you honor Ed’s memory by doing something special for yourself or another.
