Brak Vaun Hayhurst

Brak Vaun Hayhurst, age 47, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16, 2024, due to a motorcycle accident. He was born on March 7, 1977, in Canton, Ohio, to Samuel J. Hayhurst and Patricia (Brown) Hayhurst and remained a lifelong resident of the Canton community.

Brak graduated from Canton South High School and R.G. Drage Vocational Careers Center, where he specialized in automotives. He was employed as a journeyman CNC machinist / programmer with Luk Manufacturing in Wooster, Ohio.

Brak had several passions in life, with his motorcycles and his cat’s being the most cherished. He was an avid developer of motorcycle enhancements, including round pressure rings that increased thrust in performance pistons. He built hill-climbing motorcycles and was a generous contributor to Facebook motorcycle groups, where he freely shared his expertise with others. Brak also had a love for drumming and enjoyed skeet shooting.

Despite his many accomplishments, Brak was a humble man. He was especially proud of his 18 years in recovery, finding strength and guidance in the Serenity Prayer: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Brak was preceded in death by his father, Samuel J. Hayhurst. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Hayhurst; brother, Dirk (Bonnie) Hayhurst; nephew, Henry Hayhurst; his girlfriend, Tina Chatman; and many dear friends.

In accordance with Brak's wishes, no services will be held at this time. The family may arrange a celebration of life service later. Please check back to this obituary for details if a service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brak’s name to a charity of your choice. He had a particular fondness for supporting Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery Groups and the Stark County Humane Society.
