Charles S. Gearhart
Age 64, of Canton passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 after a long illness with cancer. Chuck was born July 31, 1946 in Canton to Thoburn and Concetta (Noturno) Gearhart. He was a life resident of the Canton/Louisville area and was a 1965 graduate of McKinley High School. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Chuck was formerly employed by Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion Post#548, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Louisville, and the NRA. Preceded in death by his father, Thoburn Gearhart; one sister, Martha Hall; a nephew, Ray Palm. Survived by his wife of 17 years, Jo Ann (Moran) Gearhart; one daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Michael Harter of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Tera Gearhart of Uniontown; one step-daughter, Raquel Burton of FL; nine grandchildren, Karon, Carl, Alex, Katelynn, Toby, Dagny, Davy, Rachel and Mindy; his mother, Concetta Gearhart of Louisville; 10 brothers and sisters, Lillian (Virgil) Pandrea, Susan (Robert) Silvestro, Toby (Dave) Agnes, John (Jeannie) Gearhart, Linda (Mike) Katin, Reba Hudak, Lana (Anthony) Birone, Craig Gearhart, Jan (Murray) Mast, Mike Gearhart; many nieces and nephews; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Wilma Allen of Palm Coast, FL; special friend and former wife, Rita (Joe) Amedeo of Akron. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Aultman Hospice. A chapel service will be Monday Nov. 15, 2010 at 10:00 am in the chapel at North Lawn Cemetery with Aultman Hospice chaplain, Paul Rudy officiating. Inurnment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton.
