Dean R. Bower
Dean R. Bower, age 83, of Canton, died unexpectedly Monday morning in Aultman Hospital. Son of the late, Albert S. and Clara A. (Hilbert) Bower. He was a Canton area resident for the past 52 years, retiring from LTV Steel after 30 years of service. Member of First Baptist Church, Canton and was a WWII Army veteran serving with the 103rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion where he received six Bronze Stars. He is also preceded in death by his step mother, Bertha (Booth) Bower. Survived by his wife, Bettilu "Betty" (Watson) to whom he was married 55 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Karen Bower; one grandson, Michael Bower; one granddaughter, Marcia and her husband, Ryan Terrigan; Two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Ruth Knappenberger, all of Canton. Services will be Wednesday at 11 am in the Kreighbaum -Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Kevin Slyh officiating. Interment in Bowerston Longview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services on Wednesday (10-11am).
