Deborah L. Sorge

August 19, 1954 — August 20, 2024

Deborah Lynn Sorge (née Lalu, formerly Eyler), of East Canton, Ohio, passed away on August 20, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born on August 19, 1954, in Alliance, Ohio, Deborah was the beloved daughter of George and Joan Lalu. She graduated from Sebring High School in 1972 and went on to dedicate her life to nursing, beginning her career at Aultman Hospital in 1974 and retiring in 2020 after 46 years of exceptional service. Her colleagues cherished her presence, and she was esteemed as a legendary figure within the hospital.

An active member of her community, Deborah volunteered extensively, supporting local cheerleading, softball, track and field, football, and 4-H activities. She was known for her enthusiasm for attending her grandchildren’s events and her incredible culinary talents, particularly her pasta and pies. She also enjoyed socializing with friends through card and book clubs and took great pleasure in dancing to her husband’s band, Jimmy and the Soulblazers. Deborah was a fierce and vibrant soul whose zest for life and unwavering spirit touched everyone around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Deborah is survived by her husband David Sorge; her four children: Andrea (John) Stubblefield, Natalie (Levi) Motts, Gina (Michael) Paponetti, and Benjamin Eyler; her brothers George and Gerald Lalu; and her 11 cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harry Eyler and her parents George and Joan Lalu.

Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all who knew her. A celebration of life is being planned in her honor. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the Osnaburg Prime Cuts 4-H Club.
