Dianne Smith-Tomer

Dianne Smith-Tomer, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1954, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late William and Bette Smith.

Dianne graduated from Brenau Academy before continuing her education in nursing. She completed a certificate program through Canton City Schools and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. She later retired from The Landing, where she worked as an LPN. Dianne had a genuine love for caring for others and spent much of her career working at various nursing facilities, primarily in Kentucky.

In her free time, Dianne enjoyed playing Farmville and other games on Facebook. She loved fishing at Atwood Lake and had a special affection for horses. Dianne was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Terry Smith; the love of her life, Daniel Tomer; her sister-in-law, Renee Smith; and her beloved dogs, Charlie Brown and Mason.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tiffany (Ricky) Tomer-Horton and Shawn (Leahanna) Tomer; grandchildren, Trinity, Kara, and Arlo; brothers, Dr. Clifton Smith and James Smith; sister-in-law, Kathryn Tomer; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Melanie, Jennifer, and Caroline; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Per Dianne's wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date, which will be announced when arrangements are finalized.
