Donald Lee Mingus, Jr.

Donald Lee Mingus, Jr., age 71, the second born to Donald Lee and Barbara Jean (Tucker) Mingus, passed away September 18, 2026, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Dean and Frank Mingus; and sister-in-law, Michelle Mingus.

Prior to marrying Edie, he served in the United States Marine Corps. Together they had Donald, III, Erin, and Greg who gave them seven grandchildren.

Donald never met a stranger and sought to have very few requests in life. Besides his love for his family, he treasured hunting and fishing. He loved a good "Dad" joke that he could share with everyone. For many months his simple request was, "I want to go home" so he could be with his dogs, Otto and Nomi, in his chair. He wanted time to have a big family picnic and see his large family, but time was not on his side.

He is survived by his wife, Edie; children, Don, III (Bekah), Erin (Nick), and Greg (Stephanie); grandchildren, Don, IV, Tyler, Kennedy (Matt), Anthony, Hailey, Brynlee, and Angelo; sisters, Cathy (Brad), Tammy (Kenny), and Sharon; brothers, Richard and Raymond (Rena); and sisters-in-law, Brenda Mingus and Mary Mingus.

Family and friends may visit at Sanders Funeral Home (218 Nassau Street E, East Canton, Ohio 44730) on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1pm until 4pm.
