Donald R. Slater, aged 69, passed away on May 8, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1955, in Marietta, Ohio to the late Vernon and Mary (Brown) Slater.
Donald graduated from Caldwell High School. He busied himself with a variety of small business ventures, from dairy farming to house construction, and owning a pizza shop and heavy equipment company. Donald was a member of the Louisville Church of Christ and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Alisa D. Hazelbaker, and two brothers, Charles R. Slater, and George V. Slater.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen M. Slater; daughters, Stephanie (Dustin) Ross, Janein Casson; stepdaughter, Chastity (Paul) Martin; grandchildren, Isabel, Helen, Ruby, Quentin, Eliza; step-grandchildren, Haley, Becka, William; Our special “son,” who adopted us, Deacon Eschman.
A memorial service for Donald will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm. at the Louisville Church of Christ, with Pastor Brian Grubbs as officiant. The church is located at 1520 California Ave, Louisville, OH 44641.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in memory of our family.
