Dorolee Ann Sherwood

Dorolee Ann Sherwood age 91 passed away on March 6, 2024, in Marrietta, Ohio.  She was born on August 5, 1932, to the late David and Sarah Miller.  She was a graduate of Timken High School. Throughout her life she worked part-time as a clerk at local hardware stores and department stores. However, her greatest passion was being a mother, a wife, and a homemaker. For 40 years, she was known as a “snowbird,” with annual winter migrations to Florida, along with her second husband, Bayard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Donald Gene Kiggans whom she was married to for 12 years prior to his death on, May 30,1962.  Her second husband Bayard Sherwood, Jr. passed away on August 29, 2015, at the age of 92. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons Michael (Deborah) Kiggans of New Matamoras, Ohio; Danny Kiggans of Columbus, Ohio; and Larry (Linda) Kiggans of Redmond, Oregon.

The family wishes to thank Elison House of Marietta, Ohio, for providing her care for the last two years of her life. 

In keeping with Dorolee’s wishes a private service will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery in June.
