Dorothy J. Coberly

Age 87, of Louisville and formerly Canton, passed away Thursday December 15, 2022 in St. Joseph Assisted Living, Louisville. She was born September 11, 1935 in Youngwood, PA to the late Frank and Lena (Brenning) Koontz. Dorothy retired from General Electric Credit and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Massillon. She was active with the organization and operation of the church’s monthly soup kitchen; she enjoyed her card club and loved the time she spent with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Coberly; two brothers, Robert “Sonny” Koontz and Frank Koontz. Dorothy is survived by three children and their spouses, Chuck and Melinda Forsythe, Diana and Ron Heath, Jeff and Glenda Forsythe; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Whipkey and Marie Ross. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be Saturday January 28, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with her son, Pastor Charles Forsythe. Family and friends will be received one hour before services on Saturday (1-2pm). Inurnment will be privately in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
