Dorothy E. Shirer, age 96, of Canton, died Saturday morning, November 6, 2004 in Aultman Hospital. Daughter of the late William G. and JoHannah (Scheggart)
Harvey. She was a Canton area resident since 1978, member of Olmsted Community Church, Olmsted Falls, OH., Order of Eastern Star, New Hope Chapter, Perry Grange, Richville Women's Club and Golden Charms. Former member of Rebekah Lodge, Order of Amaranth and had served as a volunteer at Massillon Community Hospital. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Shirer in 1983 and seven brothers. Survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Karen Shirer of West Brook, CT, Dave and Kathy Shirer of Puyallup, WA, Doug and Joni Shirer of Federal Way, WA, Dale Shirer of Berea, OH. and Denny and Cher Shirer of Canton; nine grand- children; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.Friends may call Monday, Nov.8, 2004 from 5-7p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. A private committal service will be in Union Cemetery, Olmsted Falls, OH.
