Eleanor Cartwright

Eleanor Cartwright, 90, of East Canton, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 13, 2026. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on October 30, 1935, to the late Elmer and Hazel (Slabaugh) Aukerman, and remained a lifelong resident of East Canton.

Eleanor devoted the early years of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. Later, she continued her service to others as a librarian at East Canton Grade School. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and attended Martindale Christian Fellowship Church. Eleanor treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert Cartwright and two grandsons Samuel Cartwright and Jordon Hesson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Joyce (Michael) Pruitt, Dale (Ruthann) Cartwright, Janice (George) Romar and Joan (Michael) Irwin.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mapleton Cemetery, 3635 Lotz Avenue SE, East Canton, Ohio 44730, with Pastor Steve Manko officiating.
