Eileen T. Miller, 95, passed away on October 30, 2023, after a long life and a long illness. Predeceased by her husband Stanley, son Michael, granddaughter Elizabeth, and her parents Clyde and Frances Larke, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Joan and Bob Rogoz, Dr. Sally Miller and Dr. Chip Styer, Dave and Linda Miller, Steve and Lucy Miller, Terri and Thom Krupar, Adam and Mary Miller. “Gaga” was dearly loved by 25 grandchildren, their partners, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Donna Yontz, and sisters-in-law Barbara Larke, Sally Larke, MaryJo Larke, Jenny Beaver, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Born in Canton, Ohio, Eileen graduated from Canton South High School and married Stanley A. Miller in 1950. Together, they built a family and the Stanley Miller Construction Co. in East Sparta. Before remote work was routine, she multitasked from her office at home while caring for seven children. She was an active participant in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and held leadership positions in civic and social organizations, including the Canton South Junior Guild and the Canton Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, for which she served as Chapter President from 1977-79. She was known for organizing family reunions, picnics, and parties and decorating the occasional Hall of Fame Parade float. She was good at and truly enjoyed all of these things, combining family, work, and community roles for most of her life. She was loving, highly intelligent, hard-working, and demanding when necessary - that is, a real role model.
