Frank S. Ungar
Age 93, of Ft. Myers, Fl, passed away Sunday December 4, 2022 in the Sanctuary Grande, North Canton, OH. He was born April 15, 1929 in Lincoln Park, MI to the late Anton and Rose (Schnabl) Ungar. He was a graduate of Lincoln Park High School and attended Wayne State University where he was a Golden Glove boxer. Frank retired from the Lincoln Park Fire Department after 39 years of service and served 12 years as Fire Chief. He was a founding member of the K of C Lincoln Park Chapter and a member of the Rotary club. Frank enjoyed many sports, as a player, coach or enthusiastic cheerleader in the stands! Oh, the stories we could tell. His true passion was the love of his family. He certainly was proud of all their accomplishments. His big smile that could light up a room and welcoming heart will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by one son, Bruce A. Ungar; three brothers, Tony, George and Bill Ungar. Frank is survived by his wife, Dee (Pallone) to whom he was married 34 years; five children, Sue (Gary) Haskin, Sandy (Jack) Donahey, Jennifer (David) Hoff, Dr. Brent Ungar (Linda Telle) and Dr. Keith Ungar; two stepchildren, Jeff (Jeanne) Plaisted and Kellie (Sean) Marquet; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family is planning a celebration of Frank’s life in the spring in Michigan, details will be shared at a later date.
