Gary “Go” Ollis, 69, of Canton, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 13, 1957, to Jack Ollis and Virginia Bivens.
Gary was a true example of someone who knew how to work hard and play hard. He was self-employed as a drywall installer and took immense pride in the quality of his work and in every job he completed. Gary was a hardworking man who enjoyed staying busy, but he also knew how to make the most of life.
Fishing was one of Gary’s favorite pastimes, providing him with a sense of peace and enjoyment. He was also a gifted pool player and loved the excitement and friendly competition that came with the game. Gary was a proud Harley rider and treasured the freedom of the open road and the adventures that came with it.
Gary had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was the kind of man who would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend or family member in need. He gave freely of his time, friendship, and love, never asking for anything in return. Above all else, Gary cherished his family. His love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
