George K. Eller, 83, of Canton Township, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Rose Lane Nursing Home. Born on October 4, 1940, in Hiawassee, Georgia. George was the son of the late Marlvin and Ruth (Rogers) Eller. 

George honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army Special Forces, specifically in the Green Berets, during the Vietnam War, his greatest altitude jump to date during his time was 25,000 feet. He lived his life guided by their motto, “De Oppresso Liber,” which translates from Latin to “To Free the Opressed,” and he consistently stood up for what was right. George retired from the Honeywell Company, where he was an electronic technician. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife Kathleen Eller whom he was married to for 37 years; George is survived by his son, Travis Eller; daughter, Tammy (Brian) Krabell; sisters, Emma (Troy) Marlene Bannister, Nancy Darlene (Charles) Gibson, and four grandchildren.

In accordance with George’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A direct cremation will take place, followed by inurnment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with a military honors followed by a graveside service. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S. Canton, OH 44707. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
