Glenn E. Long, 92, of East Canton passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, surrounded by his family at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center. He was born on July 14, 1932, in Canton, Ohio to the late Merrill E. and Gevena Long.
Glenn honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War and remained a lifelong resident of the East Canton Community. He was the proprietor of Long's Furniture for over forty years and Long's Moving Company. If you were fortunate enough to know Glenn, you would remember some of his strongest qualities; he was a salesman at heart, truly welcomed everyone as a friend, and he was very thrifty.
Glenn is preceded in death by his wife Bertha E. Long who passed away in 2013; eight brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish Glenn’s memories are his children Ken Long, Denny (Natalie) Long, Sharon Hoover, Donald (Tammy) Long, Peggy (Tim) Carroll, and Tina Dieringer. He was also very proud of his 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2nd from 11am - Noon at Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. A graveside service will follow with military honors at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home 218 East Nassau St. East Canton, OH 44730. Friends and family may share condolences and memories online at
