Gloria Jean Mozie

Gloria Jean (Minnozzi) Mozie, age 98, of Canton South, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Connersville, Ohio, on March 27, 1928 to the late Domenick and Rose (Butera) Minnozzi.

She was married to Joseph Mozie on June 30, 1947 and they spent 74 wonderful years of life together before his passing on December 12, 2021.

Gloria was blessed with one daughter, Janice Wright; one son, Robert "Bob" (Ann) Mozie; five grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Tommy, Kim and Robbie; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; one sister, Violet Pielech; and three Minnozzi brothers, Adam, Carl and Ricci.

She began a long career as a secretary at Sandyville Grade School and finished her last 16 years at Canton South High School before retiring after 33 dedicated years in the school system. She lived an active lifestyle and was a snowbird. She enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, painting, crafting, playing her clarinet, playing cards and traveling. She especially loved her many little side trip adventures with her daughter. Gloria was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Her family will cherish her memory and forever love her.

Gloria and her beloved husband, Joseph, a WWII veteran, will be placed together at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on a date to be determined.
