Harold L. Brewer, age 80, of East Sparta, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1946, in Jonesboro, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Swanita Brewer. After high school, Harold enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he honorably served for eight years.
"Once a Marine, always a Marine."
Following his military service, Harold began a 40-year career with Luntz Corporation, where he dedicated himself to his work until his retirement.
Harold spent much of his life doing the things he loved most - being on the softball field, at the bowling alley, or out on the golf course. He enjoyed both playing and coaching softball and could often be found bowling, where he proudly bowled several perfect 300 games. He was also an avid golfer. Many will remember Harold for the toothpick he almost always had in his mouth, but even more so for his big heart and the way he never knew a stranger.
Above all else, Harold cherished his family. He especially loved his daughter and grandchildren and took great pride in watching his family grow. His love was generous, genuine, and unwavering, and he leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marnie Brewer, and his daughter, Cheryl Rex.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tammy (Mark) Pahanish; grandchildren, Marisa (Brian) Ayers, Maranda (Captain Jeremy) Loudenslager, Mariah Bowman, Carrigan Pahanish, Audrey Pahanish, and Lucas Graybill; great-grandchildren, Alayni, Aurora, Coen, Sawyer, Bayne, Adley, Bishop, and Ruby; brother, Johnny (Karen) Brewer; and special friend, Mary Rucker.
Family and friends may visit at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Avenue S, Canton, Ohio 44707, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with his granddaughter, Maranda Loudenslager, officiating. He will then be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Melscheimer Cemetery.
Harold will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
