Howard L. Irwin

Howard L. Irwin, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1942 to Arthur and Florence (Neidig) Irwin.

A lifetime member of the East Canton area, Howard graduated from East Canton High School in 1960. Following graduation, he went on to join the Army, and served from 1960 to 1962. He was a proud member of the East Canton American Legion Post 667, and he attended Otterbein Methodist Church. Howard retired from his career as a skilled electrician after more than 30 years of service.

Nothing was more important to Howard than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He regularly attended their sports games, and eagerly looked forward to spending every Sunday with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Howard loved to watch NASCAR, and he was known for his love of food.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald “Buck” Irwin.

Those left to cherish Howard’s memory are his wife of 38 years, Gloria (Morris) Irwin; children, Michael (Joan) Irwin, Timothy (Treva) Irwin, Christopher (Barb) Irwin, and step-son Todd (Lisa) Norris; siblings, Dale (Sue) Irwin, Judy (Jim) Sharp, Beth (Terry) Rick, and sister-in-law Edith Irwin; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Howard will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 pm at Sanders Funeral Home, 218 E. Nassau St., East Canton, OH 44730. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Clint Quillen will immediately follow at 1:30 pm. Howard will be laid to rest with military honors at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
