James A. Burress
James A. Burress, age 81, of Malvern, died Tuesday June 1, 2004, in his son's home following an extended illness. Son of the late James Robert & Tinie (Stump) Burress. He was a Malvern area resident since 1953, retiring from Structural Stone, Minerva, in 1985. A World War II Army veteran, where he was awarded a
Purple Heart. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Burress in 2003, to whom he was married 50 years; two sisters, Beatrice Splawn and Francis Sliger; two brothers, Thomas and Raymond Burress. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Jennifer Burress II of Canton; two grandsons he greatly enjoyed playing cards with, Daniel and Matthew McLaughlin, both of Canton; four brothers, George Burress of Canton, Jack Burress of Bluefield, VA, Leonard Burress of Princeton, WV, Kenneth Burress of Prophetstown, IL; five sisters, Marie Cole of Roanoke, VA, Dorothy Burkett and Melvina Aliff both of Lakeworth FL, Helen Clites and Gladys Burress both of Flintstone, MD. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Malvern. Friends may call 1 hour before services on Thursday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aultman Hospice at 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, OH 44708.
