James H. Eakin
Age 74, of East Canton, passed away Wednesday June 21, 2017 in Aultman Compassionate Care following a brief illness. He was born January 22, 1943 in Canton to the late Harold and Doris (Clark) Eakin. Jim was a 1961 graduate of East Canton High School and retired from Ohio Bell in 1999 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie #2374, Louisville, and had served as Captain with the Osnaburg Township Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Judy K. (Lautzenheiser) to whom he was married 54 years; three children and their spouses, Angie and Dan McIntyre, Amy and Dave Kappaz, James H. “Jim” Jr. and Susanne Eakin; six grandchildren, Josh (Stephanie) McIntyre, Rachel McIntyre, Joey Kappaz, Tyler, Andrew and Emily Eakin; two sisters, Nancy Sellers and Joan (Dave) Marion. A memorial service will be Thursday July 6, 2017 at 6:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Chaplain Michael Lemon officiating.
