Janny Ilona "Charlie" Gibbons

Janny "Charlie" Gibbons, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2026. She was born in Canton, Ohio on October 10, 1943 to the late Carl and Amey Sparks. She attended Canton South High School.

Charlie worked as a supervisor at Quilting Creations before her retirement. She also spent time as a waitress and cook. Her most cherished job of all was caring for and raising her family.

Charlie truly loved all animals, especially hummingbirds. She also enjoyed gardening in her free time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sparks; sister-in-law, Pat Sparks; and grandson, Bradley Edwards.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of over 50 years, Marvin; children, Todd (Dawn) Felton and Amy Gibbons (Randy Shanower); stepchildren, Bruce, Brenda, Mark and Brian Gibbons; grandchildren, Ryleigh and Audrey Felton and MacKenzie Garrett; brother, Larry Sparks; as well as other family members and friends.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family plans to have a memorial service at a date to be determined.
