Jim A. Loutzenhiser, age 84, passed away on November 10, 2023 in his home. He was born on November 21, 1938 in Canton, OH to Otho and Catherine (Clemens) Loutzenhiser.
He graduated from Canton South High School. Jim was a sharpshooter in the United States Army and upon his arrival home he spent over 40 years with Kempthorn Motor’s as a mechanic. He also was part owner of Norcia’s Bakery for 13 years.
Jim was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for over 65 years and was a member of the AMVETS, the Eagles and Pike Grange.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife whom he married on October 21, 1961 and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage with Mary Lou (McAllister) Loutzenhiser; daughters, Erica (Richard) Knowles and Andra (Leo) Mendenhall; granddaughters, Brittany (Aaron Morehead)Knowles and Ashley (Jordan) Franks, along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jean Eversole.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 14 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and the day of the service at the church from 10 – 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 15 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church 3828 Cleveland Ave SW, Canton, OH 44707. Interment will be at Melscheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
