Joe S Shortt

Joe S. Shortt Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. Born in Richlands, Virginia to Joe and Anna (Smith) Shortt on February 16, 1954, Joe moved to Ohio in 1965, and graduated from Sandy Valley High School in 1972.

Joe proudly served in the US Army. He retired from Canton Local Schools as a custodian after 30 years of service. 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Shortt.

Those left to cherish Joe’s memory are his wife, Tammy Shortt; children, Tina (Anthony) Westrich, Jamie (Tiffany) Shortt; brothers, Donald (Vanessa) Shortt, Jerry (Linda) Shortt; grandchildren, Brayden and Logan Westrich, Avery and Jameson Shortt.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 17, from 5-7 pm, at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave. S., Canton, OH 44707. A graveside service with military honors will be held for Joe at Sandy Valley Cemetery on Wednesday, December 18, at 2 pm.
