John Joseph Giaquinta, 76, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center. He was born on September 28, 1950, in Canton, Ohio to the late Carl J. and Beulah Rose (Budd) Giaquinta. He was a lifelong resident of the Canton area, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and the things he loved.
John worked at Sears Automotive before becoming a delivery driver for Marshall Appliances. Those who knew him understood that family always came first. His love for his family was evident in the way he cared for them, especially his grandson, who held a special place in his heart. John found enjoyment in many things, from fixing lawn mowers to spending time fishing, but one of his greatest passions was his 1979 Malibu station wagon, affectionately known as “Lady Blue.” He enjoyed racing it at Dragway 42 in Magnolia, Ohio, where he could share his love of cars and the excitement of the track.
John was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Priscilla (Reed) Giaquinta, whom he married in 1971; and his siblings, Charles, Joanne, Carl “Jim,” Robert “Bob,” and Dennis Giaquinta.
Those left to cherish John's memory include his sons, Tommy Reed and Bryan Giaquinta; his daughter, Angelia Giaquinta; and his cherished grandson, Nicholas Giaquinta.
All services will be held at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave. S., Canton, Ohio 44707. Family and friends may call on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Franks as officiant. In keeping with John's wishes, a private cremation will follow.
May John find eternal peace in the loving arms of the Lord, reunited with his beloved Priscilla.
“I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25
