John R. Vincent
Age 83, of East Canton, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1938 in East Canton to the late Robert and Minnie (Moser) Vincent. John was a 1956 graduate of East Canton High School. He retired from Crowl Lumber in 2016 after 32 years of service and was formerly employed by Colfor Manufacturing for 14 years. John was a member of the First Christian Church of Malvern where he had served as elder, trustee, chairman of the elders, youth group leader and in many other various capacities. He was formerly a member of Indian Run Christian Church for many years and had served as an elder. He served as Lay minister for the Sunday services at ABC Campgrounds for 20 years. He was a farmer for many years and was a member of both the Ohio Cattleman’s and the Stark County Cattleman’s Association. He is preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel McKinney, Caroline Fallot and Jane Thorn; one brother, George Vincent. John is survived by his loving wife, Mona L. (Cable) Vincent to whom he was married 63 years; five children, Kris (Becky), Michael (Shona), Scott (Janet), Troy (Heidi) Vincent and Valarie (Scott) Montgomery; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Walter, Earl (Carol), Bill (Marsha) and Wayne (Ginger) Vincent; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 5, 2022 at 11:00am in the First Christian Church of Malvern at 4046 Coral Rd NW, Malvern, OH 44644, with Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends and family will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the church and one hour before services on Tuesday (10-11am) at the church.
