Joseph E. Brooks, Jr.

Joseph E. Brooks, Jr., age 86, passed away on April 30, 2026 at Hennis Care Center. He was born on August 26, 1939 in Canton, Ohio, to the late Joseph Sr. and Marjory Brooks. He was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School.

Joseph devoted more than 40 years to Timken where he worked as a Product Engineer. He also worked part-time in the Lawn and Garden Department at Montgomery Ward. He had many different hobbies and interests such as collecting coins, crafting jewelry, collecting glassware, playing fumbleball, working jigsaw puzzles, tending to his yard and flower beds, and going to breakfast every Friday morning in Amish country.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol L. Brooks; son, Joe Brooks; daughter, Tracey Raney; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Don and Maewirth Ritchey; and brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lois Brooks.

Cremation has taken place and his family plans to have a gathering at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or Richville United Church of Christ.
