Joseph R. Kovalik Sr.

Age 91, of Canton, passed away Saturday October 8, 2022 in his home. He was born March 29, 1931 in Calumet, PA. to the late George and Helen Kovalik. Joseph was a U.S. Air Force veteran with the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired from The Timken Company after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the St. Mary’s/St. Benedict Parish. He is preceded in death by his wife, Johanna Kovalik; four stepchildren; four sisters and two brothers. Joseph is survived by two children, Cheryl Wolak and Joseph R. Kovalik Jr.; one stepson, Larry (Ruth) Conaway; one brother, Eddie (Helen) Kovalik; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you to his daughter-in-law, Barb Bittner and granddaughter, Debbie Peterson for their care of Joseph during his last year. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday October 13, 2022 at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
