Karen Myrna (Hollender) Klotz, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by love on September 8, 2026. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on November 13, 1939 to the late Floyd and Eileen Hollender. Karen was a 1958 graduate of Minerva High School.

Karen was lucky to find love and was happily married to Robert Klotz for over 35 years. Karen was an avid gardener, she especially loved tending to her rose bushes and vegetable garden. She was a devoted grandma and she helped raise her grandchildren. In fact, she is the reason they are who they are today. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her delicious pies. Karen led a simple life and it was full of happiness and true love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Sanford; sisters, Bessie Hollender and Elaine Grunder; and brother, Roger Hollender.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Robert; children, Cheryl (Jon) Kellogg and Lance Sanford; grandchildren, Kayleigh (Damon) Smith, Marissa Bryan, Jacob and Joshua Sanford, and Skylar Henderson; brothers, William (Georgeann) and George (Karlene) Hollender; sister, Sheila (Randy) Phillips; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. A special thank you goes to Karen and Jeff for all that they've done for Karen.

The family would like to say an additional special thank you to Ohio's Hospice for the phenomenal care that they provided Karen and her family through her transition.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ohio's Hospice in Karen's name, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home 218 East Nassau Street, East Canton, Ohio 44730.
