Kathleen (McKinney)Ballas, age 71, of Canton, died Friday morning in her home following an extended illness. Born January 15, 1933, in Newland, N.C., daughter of the late
Hayden C. and Belle D. (Hughes)McKinney. She was a resident of the Canton area since the 1950's, and a former employee of Danner Press & The Timken Co. Member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survived by her family who misses her very much, husband, Richard L. Ballas to whom she had been married 52 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick L. and Lori Ballas of Canton, Terry and Hope Ballas of Canton; three grandchildren, Shannon Ballas, Tara Ballas and Nicole Feriani, all of Canton; three Sisters, Zella Kanam of Canton, Angie Suarez of Tempe, AZ. and Carolyn White of Erwin, TN.; one brother, C.H. McKinney of Erwin, TN; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at 11am. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Dew officiating.Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church (10-11am)
