Kathleen “Kathy” (Davis) Kostka and her beloved husband of nearly 44 years, Joseph “Mike” Kostka, passed away following a tragic accident, both aged 66. They always rode together—Kathy always behind Mike—and so also in death. Mike worked in the mill for years as a steelworker at Republic Steel, and Kathy in a variety of jobs to support their family.
They lived in East Canton in the house they built for 37 years, enjoying fishing, motorbiking, traveling, and their beloved grandchildren.
Mike is preceded by his father, Joseph Kostka. Kathy is preceded by her parents, Roland and Mary Davis, and sister Mary Palmer.
Their children survive Mike and Kathy, Eric Kostka, and daughter Angela Kostka-Britton (Lou). Grandchildren Mary and Linus Britton.
Mike is survived by his mother, Josephine Kostka, and sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Chase and Tammy (Ed) Hamilton.
Kathy is survived by her sisters, Darlene Rinehart, Janet Warnock, Tina Davis, Theresa Davis, Gail Swan, and brother Ronnie Davis.
Their early deaths devastated the family they loved and cherished, but the memory of their kind deeds and adoration for their children and grandchildren will live on.
The family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home, 218 Nassau St., East Canton, OH 44730.
