Kathy Ritchie, 74, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Brewster Parke Nursing Home in Brewster, Ohio. She was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on April 27, 1952, to the late Charles L. and Dolores Cecelia (Mackofski) Dayton. She spend the rest of her life in the Canton area.

Kathy was a graduate of Canton South High School and began her working career as a grill cook at Jack's Quick Shack. It was there that fate intervened in an unexpected way. An accidental phone call led her to the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Ritchie. Cupid's arrow found its mark, and the two were united in marriage on November 26, 1972. Together they shared 53 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Kathy was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in the time she spent with those she loved. Her kindness, strength, and caring nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents and other beloved family members who welcomed her into eternal rest.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Robert R. Ritchie; her son, Robert C. (Pamela) Ritchie; her daughter, Veronica (Josiah) Andexler; her grandchildren, Nathan Midcap, Vincent Ritchie, and Nicholas Pettrey; a special niece, Shannon Williams; and her siblings, Jo Anne Dayton, Sandy Hilt, Jeff (Denise) Dayton. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

In keeping with Kathy's wishes, no public services will be held at this time. Those wishing to honor her memory are invited to make a donation to a charity of their choice in Kathy's name.
