Lillie S.  Swaney

Age 91, of East Canton, passed away Sunday January 21, 2018 in her home. She was born February 28, 1926 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Samuel and Selma (Jordan) Hackworth. Lillie was an East Canton resident since 1953 and was formerly employed by Mercy Medical Center for 10 years. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women and she formerly served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Lillie is preceded in death by her husband, George D. Swaney in 2007; one sister, Catherine Latuk. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Jane and Spark Patterson, Linda Smith, Launda and Roger Slack all of East Canton, George D. and Jeanie Swaney of Mapleton, Judy Sterling of Canton, Tom and Brenda Swaney of Meadville, PA., Lori and Randy St. Clair of East Canton; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Hackworth of Linesville, PA. Funeral services will be Friday January 26, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Jon Hutchinson and her great-grandson, Donny Ackerman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends and family will be received Thursday 5-7pm and one hour before services on Friday (12-1pm).
