Manuella Wood

Manuella Wood, age 82, passed away peacefully in her Canton Township home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born on October 23, 1941 in Cuero, Texas, to the late Juan Cañas and Lorenza Esparza.

Manuella was very proud of her family and loved being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She especially loved being a Latino woman and sharing her culture and heritage with all that knew her. She instilled many qualities in her family, however, the one she taught most often was how to love and treat others with dignity and respect. She loved gardening and took special pride in her roses and growing her pineapples.

Manuella is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis Wood, her son Charles Wood and four sisters.

Those left to cherish Manuella’s memories are her daughter-in-law Pam Wood; grandchildren Matthew (Rebekah) Wood, Andrew Wood, Nathan Wood and Samuel Wood; her siblings Mary Dau and Petra Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Manuella’s funeral service, officiated by Pastor Joe Cosentino, will follow immediately at 7:00 p.m. After the service, she will be transported to Cuero, Texas, for additional services
