Marlene S. Ward

Age 72, of Waynesburg, Ohio died Friday July 22, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic. Born April 4, 1950 in Canton, Ohio to the late Richard and Helen (Renicker) McCartney. She was a life resident of the Canton/Waynesburg area. Marlene retired from Canton Local Schools. She was a member of the East Sparta Church of Christ. Preceded in death by a sister, Caroline (Susie) McCartney; two brothers, Doral and Harrison “Lefty” McCartney. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jeffery S. Ward; one daughter, Christine (Matt) Dillon; two sons, Jeffery (Michelle) Ward Jr., Eddie (Marissa) Ward; four grandchildren, Amber, Zoe, Kate and Elizabeth Ward; three sisters, Doris Jean (Roland) Leavens, Ruth Ann (Paul) Cice, Deborah Johnston; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Interment in Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 1:00 – 3:00pm.
