Nancy J. Evans

Nancy J. Evans, aged 87, passed away on November 11, 2024. A lifelong resident of Canton, she was born on June 17, 1937, to the late Alfred and Kathleen (McWilliams) Davies.

Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School. She went on to graduate from Mount Union College, and then from Akron University, where she received her PhD of Psychology. A registered nurse, Nancy retired from Aultman Hospital after 20 years of service. She also retired from Canton Local Schools, where she had been a teacher in the Diversified Health Occupations department (DHO).

Nancy was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, Mount Union College Women’s Club, Canton College Club, Omicron Tau Theta Honorary Society, Aultman Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, and Lincoln High School Alumni Association.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald Evans in 1988, second husband, Robert Miller, and daughter, Donna McCoy in July, 2024.

Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory are her daughters, Jeannie (Danny) Dolan; granddaughter, Faith (Justin) Lewis; great-grandsons, Graysen and Landen Lewis (who called her MawMaw Seashell); sister, Janet (Robert) Fisher; two nephews and one niece.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Friday, November 15 from 6-7 pm at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Tom Shank immediately following.
